I am writing this from 7th heaven having just devoured some goodies from back home .. and this time they were not smuggled over in a suitcase but ordered online and delivered right to my front door within 72 hours!
Before arriving in France I was a big fan of Sainsburies and Tescos home delivery, I enjoyed the variety of trolleys available and the Mum and Baby parking spaces .
Since moving over I have spent the last 2 years adapting to French life and living like a local that is I thought I had adapted to fraught shopping with toddlers in tow, fighting for a car space 10 miles from the entrance. I believed I had replaced all my faves from back home through abstinence and then one day reality hit me and I realised there was a void in my life that needed filling .. I started surfing again to find out who would deliver a taste of home to my front door.
I found a couple of companies and decided on the British Corner Shop because of the inviting and easy to use website that came across as reliable and professional.
My 28 kg package arrived very quickly with only one item not available (they actually called me to let me know that it wouldn't be in the pack and had been refunded to my card).
Proper curry sauces, original stir fry sauces, favourite biscuits and crisps, party food for our child's birthday. Hubbie ordered some of his must have chutneys and our daughter asked for Barbie mini muffin mix which was a great rainy day activity for us all. For mum as a veggie they had a great selection of vegetarian options and I finally found some Mildew remover weird but true!
I was able to replenish the cupboard with key products that I have been able to use over the last month to add variety to what was becoming a boring menu and also remind us and the kids of the culture and tastes we left behind. It's been fun - we highly recommend the British Corner Shop and we're looking forward to placing our next order very soon in time for Christmas!!
