Kidookid We test it .. you try it© report took place as part the Friday afternoon get togethers Kidookid and copains visited Ceramic Crea in Antibes with their little cherubs. Our group was made up of a couple of 2 ½ year old girls, a 10 month old, a 7 month old and even a little newborn!
After an early nap at 2 p.m. we arrived at the smartly decorated and calm studio where 2 lady ceramists were already designing their creations.
We set about choosing our pieces to decorate, cleaned our hands, dusted off the pots and followed ceramic protocol.
The toddlers chose fun pieces to paint and the babies focussed on getting their hand prints and foot prints captured forever on various plates and pots..
The assistant Corinne was on hand to guide the little girls on how to best decorate their pieces and Pascale helped the babies and mums with their imprints. It had been suggested the parents paint alongside the children as there was an animatrice to look after the children, luckily we declined as it would have just been too much.
The toddlers enjoyed their sessions though it did come across as a bit "do it this way .. use this colour" rather than freestyle ..the Babes found the experience of having their feet and hands inked up a little strange and voiced their concerns shall we say but the end result will be one that Granny and Grandpa will love!
Another party arrived bang on 3:30 and so we had to hurriedly make way for their session .It was a bit vague as to when the items would be ready, after a week I called them and they said to call again in a couple of days ..so the items were ready 10 days later to be collected although some of them had slight imperfections and had to be refired causing a longer delay.
Feedback from SH, Mum to 10month baby
A lovely way to preserve your babies "paw prints" making gorgeous Christmas presents and mementoes
-
Need to make sure they know you are coming so they can make sure the other people there wont be disturbed
-
Quite good value as long as you don't try and make too much!!
-
Very tricky to find and need to park in the street, make sure you right down the address and pay attention to the map as there is no sign on the main road items wont be ready for 1-2 weeks (good to know in case doing for birthday or whatever)
-
Take someone without a baby to help you as very difficult to finish off with names, trims etc with baby on your knee
-
Bring some toys as may not all be able to do things at once
-
a plastic bib would be a good idea
-
they only speak french?
-
I will be going again and would give them ****
