What is a Reward Chart?

A concept that has been used through the years and brought back into the spotlight by the TV show Super Nanny. Reward Charts are a technique used to improve your children's behaviour in a fun and calm and most importantly positive way.

Kidookid have been trying and testing this in association with reward chartand believe that these are a great way to decorate your kids room and improve behaviour at the same time!

"Kidookid recommends these colourful and eye catching Reward Charts. They are fun for all the family and serve as a prominent reminder to the joint cause we are working towards ... dry pants!"

When can I use a Reward Chart?

You can use a reward chart at any time for any purpose. Just remember to keep it simple and achievable ..agree the "rules" up front, reward with the stickers according to the child's age and routine i.e. as it happens or at bedtime . We used the chart to encourage dry pants during potty training ..here are some more ideas...

  • Educational Achievements: Practising; reading, writing, telling the time, learning times tables, etc.
  • Daily Activities: Washing hands, getting dressed, teeth brushing, getting ready for bed, etc.
  • Developmental Stages: Potty training, sleeping through the night, becoming dry at night, tying laces, learning to ride a bike or to swim, etc.
  • Getting Rid of Problem Behaviour: Hitting, kicking, telling tales, tantrums (over 3's), thumb sucking, refusing to do chores, swearing, etc.
  • Encouraging Good Behaviour: Tidying up, manners, sharing, staying at the table, etc.
